About New River Gorge — Kaymoor

The shade that makes Kaymoor climbable when Endless Wall is baking is also the reason it stays damp: Mountain Project explicitly notes the area "is shady and stays wet after rain for at least a day" — longer in humid stretches. Cumberland sandstone wet-rock ethic still applies. Approach descends the Kaymoor Miners Trail from the top parking area (long stair-climb back up). Free NPS access; same NPS rules as Endless Wall (no drones, no new bolts, no anchoring to trees). NRAC lists no active peregrine closure. The deep shade and steep angle keep guides and locals here through Southern summers.
