About Tennessee Wall (T-Wall)
The Tennessee Wall ("T-Wall") is the Southeast's premier single-pitch trad venue — a hard south-facing sandstone escarpment above the Tennessee River Gorge in Prentice Cooper State Forest, with 300+ routes in the 5.8–5.11 range on immaculate crack, face and dihedral lines. Full sun all day makes it a T-shirts-in-January winter destination and miserable in summer; prime season is September through June. Free access via River Canyon Road (Mullens Cove Road) off Suck Creek Road, 25 min from downtown Chattanooga. Bolted anchors are increasingly replacing slung trees due to pine-beetle damage; no new bolts without an area rep permit. Camping only at the parking area (break-ins common — no valuables in vehicles).
