About Sunset Park (Lookout Mountain)

Sunset Park is Lookout Mountain's premier Tennessee-side trad venue — hard Cumberland Plateau sandstone on the western face of Lookout Mountain within Lookout Mountain Battlefield (Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park). Some of the finest single-pitch trad in Tennessee, with a total ban on fixed protection (no bolts, no sport climbing). West-facing so shaded in the morning and sunny in the afternoon — spring/autumn is prime. NPS land: strictly enforced sundown deadline (be off the crag before sundown), no camping. Cumberland sandstone wet-rock ethic applies.
