About Mellon Udrigle Boulders

Mellon Udrigle Boulders are situated along the white sandy coastline at Mellon Udrigle in Wester Ross, offering high-quality sandstone bouldering. The Torridonian sandstone blocks are smooth yet high-friction, featuring rounded slopers, sharp crimps, and roof cut-outs. Boulders are scattered along the coastal edge facing various directions, allowing climbers to easily find sun or shelter. Grades range from friendly 5th grade problems up to elite roof testpieces, with Udrigle Roof standing out as a local benchmark. Access is very simple, requiring a five-minute walk from the Mellon Udrigle beach car park across flat turf. The venue is largely non-tidal, though high spring tides can reach the bases of select beach blocks.
