About Stone Valley Crags
Stone Valley Crags are a cluster of gneiss buttresses on the slopes of Meall Lochan a' Chlèirich, south of the A832 between Gairloch and Loch Maree, with over a hundred slab and crack routes, mostly from Hard Severe to E3. The rock is rough and the hummocky hillside sheds water, so the crags dry quickly after rain; most face south-west, looking out to the sea and Baosbheinn. Park by the green barn just off the A832 at the east end of Loch Bad an Sgalaig, follow the track over the bridge for about 1km, then cross two streams and climb steeply to the crags — about 30 minutes. Midges and ticks can be bad in summer.
