The rock consists of compact, featured limestone offering sharp crimps, vertical pockets, and clean slabs. Facing due south beneath woodland canopy, it acts as a reliable sun trap and dries quickly on open walls after rainfall. The venue is famous for intermediate sport climbing alongside classic traditional routes, primarily ranging from 4 to 7a+ and Severe to E2. Fine classics like The Long Dark Teatime of the Soul attract steady attention. Access is extremely quick, taking less than five minutes from roadside parking along the B6480. Tree canopy shade provides pleasant summer conditions, though winter tree drip can keep lower ledges damp.
