Robin Proctor's Scar is a premier limestone sport venue situated near Clapham in the Yorkshire Dales. The rock consists of exceptionally solid, clean gray limestone featuring vertical crimps, technical seams, and sharp pockets. Facing south-southwest, the cliff receives sun for most of the day and dries almost instantly due to its open, well-ventilated position. The crag is a sport climber's haven, crammed with high-quality bolted routes from 6a to 8a, with the concentration centered in the 6b to 7b range. Iconic testpieces like Cynical Wanker attract regular ascents. Approach via a pleasant 15-minute walk along public footpaths from Clapham village car park. High quality rock and quick drying make it one of the premier year-round sport crags in Yorkshire.
