About Reed's Pinnacle

Reed's Pinnacle is a compact granite tower above Big Oak Flat Road between the first and second tunnels heading toward Highway 120, up-canyon of the Cookie Cliff. Holds some of the valley's best short crack pitches — the Regular Route (5.9, 4 pitches) and Direct (5.10a, 3 pitches) are Yosemite crack classics; Lunatic Fringe (5.10c) and Stone Groove (5.10b) are the single-pitch testpieces. Same up-canyon microclimate as the Cookie: drier and sunnier than the main valley. Pull-out and short walk.
