About Blue Scar West

Blue Scar West is the western continuation of the main Blue Scar limestone cliff in Littondale. The rock consists of clean gray limestone featuring vertical crimp walls, steep grooves, and compact slabs. Facing south, it catches full sun throughout the day and dries quickly on open faces, though lower breaks hold moisture after rain. The venue offers a mix of traditional routes and modern sport climbs, mostly in the VS to E3 and 6a to 7a range. Standout lines like West Wall provide engaging technical climbing. Access is a 10-minute walk along footpaths from Littondale laybys. Dry seasonal spells offer the best rock friction.
