About Gairloch Crags

Gairloch Crags are accessible sandstone and schist outcrops overlooking the harbour and coast at Gairloch in Wester Ross. The rock is clean and sound, featuring positive crimps, slab features, and sharp crack lines. Facing west toward the Minch, the crags capture evening sunshine and dry rapidly in prevailing coastal winds. Route distribution includes a mix of low-to-mid grade trad routes and modern sport climbs, led by Gairloch Arête. The approach takes under ten minutes from harbour parking areas along well-defined paths. Excellent proximity to local amenities makes this a popular regional venue.
