About Gardom's Edge
Open moorland above Baslow — catches afternoon/evening sun. Quick-drying west-facing grit with excellent mid-grade trad. The rock character varies from clean, rough grit on exposed buttresses to lichen-covered rock in the heavily wooded sectors, and the tree-covered walls hold moisture longer after rain. Approach via a ten-minute woodland walk from the Robin Hood roadside laybys. Dense bracken and tree cover in summer can leave certain buttresses damp and midgy.
