About Ramshaw Rocks
Roadside gritstone on the A53 with an exposed ridge feel — quick drying but cold in easterlies. Mix of bouldering and short trad. The rock is extremely rough gritstone, shaped by harsh weathering into steep walls, wide offwidths, and rounded crests. Climbing at Ramshaw is notorious for requiring brutal, physical jamming craft and serious mental commitment on its famous crack lines. Access requires a brief but steep five-minute walk from the laybys along the A53.
